The Homer City Borough Main Street Revitalization project gets underway today.
Work will start with the gas line replacement starting at the post office on North Main Street and continuing on the west side of Main Street to the intersection of South Main and Wiley Streets. Work will then move to the East side of Main Street and will go from Wiley Street to Miller Avenue. Gas Line replacement will be followed by sidewalk replacement, which is scheduled to start the week of March 6th.
While the work is going on, there will be some traffic and utility disruptions, and parking is expected to be limited during the construction period, but all businesses will have public access to their establishments.
Speaking of utilities, the Central Indiana County Water Authority will replace a water valve today on West Indiana Street. Because of this replacement, some areas will see some interruptions in water service. The areas include North Main Street between Mullen Avenue and Indiana Street, West Indiana Street, St. Clair Street, Jacksonville Road area, Anna Avenue and Devers Street.
