A pellet stove was the cause of a fire that damaged a portion of a home on Barr-Slope Road early this morning.
Indiana County 911 reported the fire at 4:21 this morning in Rayne Township at 797 Barr Slope Road. Clymer Fire Department’s Jeff Gromley said that the fire started as a pellet stove warmed up and the pipe from the stove caught some insulation on fire. Fire crews were able to get to the scene quickly and knock the fire down, salvaging the house. The people in the home, Nicole and Larry Brewer along with two kids, did not need any additional assistance, and in fact were beginning to patch a hole torn in the side of the house to fight the fire with a large piece of plywood after the fire was put out.
No word of any injuries connected with this fire. Clymer, Commodore, and Marion Center Fire Departments were called out to fight the fire.
