State Police out of the Kiski Valley Barracks are investigating an attempted child luring that happened Monday Morning at a bus stop on Moween Road in Loyalhanna Township, Westmoreland County.
Police say between 8:05 and 8:10 Monday morning, an unknown man pulled up in a full size white van and offered an 8-year-old Saltsburg girl standing at the bus stop some candy. Police say the man was in his late 20’s-early 30’s, about 5 feet eleven inches to 6 feet one inch tall, weighing around 150 pounds, had long brown hair pulled back in a bun, and a long brown beard. He was seen wearing a red and white flannel shirt with sleeves rolled up to reveal tattoos on both forearms and a pair of blue jeans. The van is believed to be a Ford Econoline with three windows on each side and rear windows. The vehicle was seen heading North on Moween Road after the incident.
Blairsville-Saltsburgh’s Acting Superintendent Jeffrey Soles confirmed the incident happened at a Saltsburg Elementary School bus stop, and said they will assist State Police in the investigation. They are also notifying parents of the incident via a newsletter, and they are also asking people to be on the lookout for the suspect vehicle.
