Delays can be expected once again today in the Route 286/422 interchange project area, specifically near the entrance to the Walmart complex on Oakland Avenue.
Going on now until 6 PM tonight, crews from Gulisek construction from Mt. Pleasant will start line painting activities near the entrance to Walmart at the intersection of Oakland Avenue and Plaza Road. Line painting will also happen along Indian Springs Road. Crews will also move traffic signal heads into position as well.
This is part of the ongoing Route 286/422 widening and resurfacing project, which includes the installation of sidewalks along Oakland Avenue, drain and guide rail upgrades, the replacement of McCarthy Run Bridge, and the widening and resurfacing of the 422/286 interchange. The project costs $19.83 million and will wrap up in December of 2023.
