WHITE TOWNSHIP
Two Indiana residents have been charged with endangering the welfare of a child in a drug case from this past weekend. State police say 25-year-old Marybeth Roush and 29-year-old Jeffery Smith were supposed to be watching a 6-year-old girl on Friday night when both Roush and Smith overdosed on heroin. Police do not say much more about the incident, which happened at about 11:30 PM in the 500 block of Whittier Drive in White Township. The parents of the girl are not publicly identified, but Children and Youth Services was notified.
WHITE TOWNSHIP
It didn’t take much of a sense of smell to raise the suspicion of a state trooper last Thursday night on Grove Lane. Trooper Dylan Toy was on patrol the area of the Verge Apartments and Arch Apartments when he noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from a parked vehicle in the Arch Apartments. Inside that vehicle was 23-year-old Darryl Lamont Carpenter III of Pittsburgh, and a search revealed a backpack with 24.8 grams of marijuana and a digital scale. Charges of simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia are pending.
