Firefighters are trying to save the Harmony Grove Church this morning in Washington Township, but it looks dire. One firefighter has reportedly been injured.
Creekside firefighters were dispatched at 3:56 AM for a report of smoke in the basement at the church along Five Points Road in Willet, and at 4:15, Plumville and Marion Center were sent to the scene. Soon after, Indiana, Elderton, Rural Valley, Dayton, and Clymer’s Rapid Intervention Team were dispatched. Additional tankers from Indiana and Armstrong County fire departments were also called in to assist.

Flames were through the roof of the church within a half-hour of the first summons.
State Police Fire Marshals have been called to the scene to investigate the cause, which is not known at this time.
Harmony Grove Lutheran Church is a sister congregation of the Grove Chapel Lutheran Church.
