IUP’s Chief Community and Government Relations Officer and Executive Assistant to President Michael Driscoll announced her intent to run for Indiana County Commissioner.
Robin Gorman, a resident of Brush Valley, will run for the Republican nomination for County Commissioner in the upcoming primary election. Gorman is a longtime resident of Indiana County, and has worked for IUP since 1999 and has worked for the university’s president since 2005. Her platform includes strengthening Indiana County’s economic development, and she says that she is in favor of eliminating school property taxes.

She will run against Maria Jack, Bob Colgan and R. Michael Keith as candidates for the republican nomination for Indiana County Commissioner. Current Republican commissioners Mike Baker and Rod Ruddock have announced that they will not run for re-election, but Sherene Hess will run for re-election on the Democratic ticket. Hess will be joined on the ballot by Indiana Borough Council member Donald Lancaster.
Each party will take the top two from the primary forward to the general election in November to fill three seats on the Commissioners panel.
