Another Indiana Borough Council member has announced his intent to run for re-election.
Peter Broad has announced his candidacy for re-election to represent the first ward in Indiana Borough. Broad has been on Indiana Borough Council since 2012, and has served as council president since 2016. During his term as council president, he has helped hire a new borough manager, and promoted a new police chief. He also supports the “Inhabit Indiana” initiative, which encourages people to buy homes in Indiana.

Before Broad joined borough council, he served 25 years as professor at IUP. For several years, Broad was a department head while at IUP.
Broad becomes the second person to run for a borough council seat. Ben Ford last announced his candidacy, but he will run for the second ward seat. Broad will run for the Democratic nomination.
