Once again, IUP has been selected for a national publication’s list of best universities in the United States.
For the 29th consecutive year, IUP has been listed as part of U.S. News and World Report’s list of Best National Universities. The school is one of only two public universities in Pennsylvania on the “top public” schools list and is one of 24 private and public universities in the state to be selected for the list. IUP also was selected as one of the “Top Performers in Social Mobility” ranking, which measures how well schools graduated students who received federal Pell grants.
Also, nine IUP graduate programs were highlighted in the “Best Graduate School” rankings, with three in the top ten for Pennsylvania. The criminology program, which was selected for the top four state-wide ranking, was also selected in the top 34 of the national rankings.
The magazine’s editors praised IUP for its academic rigor and recognized the numerous opportunities for students to be involved in campus life, ranging from clubs to intramural sports.
This recognition follows several other national accolades for the university, including most recently, being selected for the Princeton Review’s “Best Colleges” guidebook.
