UPDATE:
A Buffington Township couple is now homeless after a fire destroyed their home early this morning.
Indiana County 911 said fire crews were called out initially at 2:13 this morning to a home on South Factory Hollow Road for the fire. Nine fire departments were on the scene, with Brush Valley, Armagh, and Cherryhill Township in Indiana County and Vintondale Fire Department in Cambria County first on the scene. Pine Township, Nanty-Glo, Clyde, Homer City and Clymer Fire Departments were called in later to supply tankers to transport water.
The two people in the home, Earl George and his wife, were able to get out safely, but Earl was taken to the hospital for an injury not related to the fire. It’s believed that the fire was not intentionally set.

The fire was reported at 2:13 this morning on South Factory Hollow Road in Buffington Township. Brush Valley, Armagh and Cherryhill Township fire departments in Indiana county and Vintondale fire department in Cambria County were first called out for the structure fire, with Pine, Nanty-Glo, Clyde, Homer City and Clymer Fire Departments providing tanker assist. Several other fire departments were also called in to stand-by for fire crews on the scene.
