Two people had to be taken to the hospital for suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in an incident in Burrell Township yesterday.
Indiana County 911 dispatched the Black Lick and Blairsville fire departments to 1379 Cornell Road in Burrell Township for a report of a carbon monoxide alarm activation at 12:53 PM. Two people were found in the home showing symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning. The fire department was also instructed to set up a landing zone for a Stat Medevac helicopter, but the two were taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Only two other listings came in on Thursday for first responders. Firefighters in Cherry Tree were called into Clearfield County to help with an automatic fire alarm activation at 1:14 PM. Coral-Graceton fire department was called in for standby detail at their station one minute later.
