On Friday, IUP announced two successful fundraising efforts as part of the university’s Imagine Unlimited campaign.
In a statement, the university said that on Giving Tuesday, the IUP community more than doubled the event’s fundraising goal of $20,000 by raising $46,528. Alumni, faculty, staff, friends and students all contributed to the Giving Tuesday campaign. The main focus of the campaign’s third year was the student assistance fund, but funds were also donated to IUP’s food pantry and help center, the Sutton scholarships, IUP’s rugby program and the speech-language pathology simulation lab.
IUP was also the recipient of $100,000 to establish a scholarship to benefit students in the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology. The money came from a donation from Eugene O’Sullivan, a 1971 accounting graduate, and his wife Sandra. Eugene is a member of the Eberly College’s Hall of Distinction and is a former Chief Financial Officer of Elliott Company in Jeannette. He also worked for The Conair Group and Joy Manufacturing.
