Both PennDOT and Indiana Borough will have paving projects going on today in Indiana.
Work will start tonight on an evening repaving project on Philadelphia Street from Ben Franklin Road to Station Street. The work will also include the reconstruction of pedestrian ramps to make them compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act at 12th and 13th streets. Work will be performed tonight, with traffic directed by flaggers. Detours will also be posted. Motorists should be alert to side street closures and pedestrians are advised to take the detours that will be posted and not to walk through the work zone.
Meanwhile, crews will be working in the East Ward 2 region, formerly the second ward. Paving operations will start today on South Avenue, Clark Avenue, Willow, Virginia, Diamond, and Maryland avenues from Sixth to Seventh; South Carpenter Avenue to Philadelphia Street; Gompers Avenue from Tenth to Eleventh; and Oak Street from 1st to 6th Streets. Crews will mill for a few days, then pave the following week. Work is expected to last two weeks and traffic will be directed during that time.
