The Steelers’ roster continued to thin out during the second day of NFL Free Agency. The following players will not be returning to Pittsburgh in 2021:
- Cornerback Mike Hilton – who signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Details of his contract are not available as of yet.
- Defensive end Tyson Alualu – he will return to the Jacksonville Jaguars on a two-year deal worth $6 million, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
- Linebacker Vince Williams – who the Steelers released late Tuesday afternoon. This saves the team $4 million in salary cap space.
Among all the departures, the Steelers were able to secure offensive tackle Zach Banner for two more years, according to insider Dale Lolley. Banner also announced the re-signing in a video on Twitter where he says he’s back “to win the Super Bowl.”
JuJu Smith-Schuster is still a free agent after two days and there are currently no reports stating that teams have been in talks with him.
