River Valley and United came down to the wire in Blairsville last night, but the Lions came out on top, 47-45.

United senior Mollee Fry said the Lions are playing with a chip on their shoulder this year after losing in the District 6 championship last year.
Lions coach Paul Hall said this is a good win to set the tone for the year.
Panthers coach Ricc Brown said River Valley has a target on their backs.

Marion Center’s Lydia Miller notched her 1,000th career point in a 49-37 loss to Portage. Miller collected 15 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, while Natalie Black added seven points. Miller said after the game that she was lucky to share this experience with her teammates.
Indiana beat Latrobe, 51-43. The Little Indians jumped out to an 18-9 lead after one and held the lead throughout the game. Bella Antonacci led the team with 16 points while Laken Kugler added 10. Indiana hosts Knoch Monday night.
