Indiana County Commissioners received updates on the Covid-19 situation in the county at their meeting this morning
Indiana County Emergency Management Director Tom Stutzman said that over the past few weeks, the county’s Covid-19 positive case and hospitalization numbers have increased to levels not seen since this January, during a large spike in the number of cases. Stutzman added that this is on par with other areas of the state over the last few weeks, and in Indiana county, the increases were not dramatic
He also touched upon the recent move to phase 2 of the state’s covid-19 vaccine distribution plan, allowing anyone 16 or older to get vaccinated. Stutzman said that people should take advantage of the vaccinations.
In other business, the commissioners proclaimed the month of April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month and declared the week of April 11th to the 17th as Telecommunicators Week to honor 911 call center workers.
