Officials with the Indiana County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity of the victim involved in a fatal crash early Wednesday morning in White Township.
Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. said Noah Matthew Chappell of Indiana was heading south on a bicycle near the area of 550 Old Route 119 North around 4:50 AM when he was hit by a Ford F-150 pickup truck that was also headed south. An autopsy and toxicology tests were ordered, and Chappell’s death was ruled accidental. His cause of death was listed as “multiple blunt force traumas.”
Assisting the coroner’s office were members of the Indiana Fire Association, Citizens’ Ambulance, Indiana Borough Police, and Pennsylvania State Police from the Indiana and Greensburg barracks.

At least one person is dead following a crash this morning in White Township.
Indiana County 911 dispatched Indiana Fire Association members, state police from Indiana and Greensburg, and Citizens Ambulance to the area of North 4th Street near Bilo and Bob’s Pizza around 4:51 AM for a reported vehicle-pedestrian crash. Initial scanner reports say a 21-year-old man was struck by a car in the area and was found unconscious. Officials with the Indiana County Coroner’s Office were later called in to investigate.
Center and North 4th Streets at Bilo have been temporarily closed off, and traffic is being re-routed onto North 5th Avenue.
