A vehicle fire shut down a portion of Route 119 in northern Indiana County on Thursday.
Indiana County 911 reported the fire around 4:30 in the afternoon as a trailer of straw caught fire on Route 119 north in North Mahoning Township. Perry Township and Punxsutawney’s Lindsey Fire Department were dispatched at the time.
According to a post on their Facebook page, Perry Township fire officials said that the driver was able to get the trailer unhooked from the truck and moved out of the way while fire crews put the fire out. Almost 25,000 gallons of water was used.
Marion Center was called in for traffic detail as they shut down 119 at Route 85. The fire rekindled this morning just before 7:00 AM and both Perry Township and Lindsey fire crews returned to the scene.
