ATTEMPTED BREAK-IN
Indiana Borough Police are also seeking information on an attempted break in that happened in Indiana Borough Saturday morning.
Police say that at approximately 3:48 a.m., officers were called to the 400-block of Oak St. for an attempted break in of a vehicle. The unidentified victim told police that they were notified of the attempted break in after their car alarm sounded and they saw a figure by their car. They say the person was last seen running east in the 400-block of Burns Ave.
No description of what the person looked like is available, however anyone with information can call Indiana Borough Police at (724) 357-2121. Officers also remind residents to lock their vehicles and homes.
DUI, POSSESSION
A Homer City man was arrested by Indiana Borough Police on Sunday following an incident along the 400-block of Philadelphia St.
According to reports, officers were called to assist the Indiana County Sheriff’s office in a traffic stop before 2 p.m., after a sheriff deputy reported a driver smoking marijuana while driving. Borough police in Indiana identified the man as 33-year-old Jeremiah Duvall and arrested him after he was discovered to be driving under the influence of drugs.
Duvall was taken into custody but was later released to a sober person. A criminal complaint was filed against Duvall for charges related to DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana and driving with a suspended license.
HIT-AND-RUN
Borough police in Indiana also report that a man from Punxsutawney was cited for a hit-and-run last Thursday.
Officers say that around 2 p.m., a large van struck a parked car and fled the scene shortly after. Police later identified the driver as Matthew Neff, and a citation charging Neff with damage to unattended vehicles/property was filed.
