The Laurel Highlands Council of the Boy Scouts of America has renewed a lease agreement with an Indiana County campsite in Yellow Creek State Park to continue to hold scout events and camping at the facility.
The council has signed a new five-year lease with Camp Seph Mack at Yellow Creek to use the facility for different camp outs and events. The campsite offers 200 acres of land and 4,000 feet of lakefront area at the State Park in Penn Run. Residential and overnight camping will be available at the facility, along with day use and a conference center. Laurel Highlands Council will also offer family camp sessions from July 9th to the 11th and August 6th to the 8th. It’s open to all families, provided that at least one member of the family is a registered member of scouting.
Camp Seph Mack has been home to a BSA camp since 1934, but in 2019, the annual summer camp program came to an end as the council evaluated the numerous camping properties in their portfolio based on national criteria.
