Independence Day festivities for the 6th annual Star Spangled Celebration, presented by the YMCA of Indiana County, get underway at Mack Park in White Township today at noon, with family activities lasting all day long and leading to the fireworks, which will happen shortly after dark.
The musical lineup includes Told Ya So, starting at 1 PM, followed by Wild Card at 3 and Andrew Mack at 5. Then at 7:30, 7 Mile Run takes the stage.
Admission is three dollars per individual or ten dollars per family.
Today is also a “fish-for-free” day in Pennsylvania. Fishing licenses are not required, but all other Fish & Boat Commission regulations are in effect, including season and catch limits. This is also the second day of Operation Dry Water, an enhanced enforcement effort to stop boating under the influence. Boat operators are bound to the same blood/alcohol limit, .08 percent, as vehicle operators, and that goes for motorized and non-motorized boats.
