State Representative Dave Reed yesterday took to the floor of the House chambers in Harrisburg and issued a challenge to his colleagues to seize the opportunities in front of them and not to be stymied by negativism.
Reed, re-elected as House Majority Leader, reviewed some of the accomplishments of the last session and said the new legislature, which is firmly in the control of the Republicans, has a chance to shape Pennsylvania’s future.
He said now is the time to address the state’s most pressing needs.
The Republican advantage in the House is the largest since 1957-58. Reed said the focus right now will be improving the business climate to encourage job growth, and reshaping educational opportunities to ensure schools and employers are working together to offer students a practical and useful education.”
