Sears, K-Mart, and Macy’s announced yesterday the closures of hundreds of stores across the nation, including some in Pennsylvania, but the Sears and K-Mart at the Indiana Mall are not on the chopping block.
Sixty-eight Macy’s stores, 108 K-Marts, and 42 Sears stores will close across the nation. The Sears and K-Mart closures were announced in two releases, one dated December 27th and the other January 4th. In Pennsylvania, six K-Marts and five Sears will be closed, most of them by the end of March, although a few will close earlier.
The Sears and K-Mart at the Indiana Mall have been anchor stores since the mall opened in 1979.
