This weekend will mark the celebration of an Indiana Church’s 175th anniversary.
St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church will hold events over the next few months to mark the anniversary, but tomorrow will be the celebratory mass starting at 11:00. Immediately following mass, there will be a parish BBQ. At 4:30 on Sunday, the church will hold a color run/walk at S&T Bank Arena.
Father Richard Owens said that the church’s longevity is a testament to the importance of the catholic faith in Indiana.
Other activities include a raffle for a dinner cooked by Father Owens, Father Tage Danielson and Deacon Andrew Corriente. Deacon Andrew is expected to do some baking for that meal as he was the winner of season five of ABC’s “Great American Baking Show”. The parish also plans a trivia night on Friday, October 8th at Levity Brewing, with the top prize being a personalized cake from Deacon Andrew.
