Fire crews in Indiana County were busy on Friday with several incidents reported by the county’s 911 system.
At 9:10 AM, fire crews were on the scene of an automatic fire alarm activation at the Penns Manor School District complex on Route 553. Superintendent Daren Johnston said that it was a false alarm because of one of their detectors was faulty. Cherryhill Township Fire Chief Jody Rainey added that his crews, along with Pine Township fire department were already on scene for fire prevention presentations at the school.
Two structure fires were reported yesterday. The first was on Fairview Avenue in White Township at 3:02 PM. Indiana fire association members responded along with the Rapid Intervention Team and Citizens’ Ambulance. The other fire was reported at 7:31 PM on Franklin Street in Clymer. Clymer and Commodore Fire Departments were dispatched at the time, along with Indiana and Cambria County’s RIT Teams and Citizens’ Ambulance.
And a vehicle accident was also reported at 5:47 PM on Route 422 in Cherryhill Township. Cherryhill Township fire department, Citizens’ Ambulance and State Police called out at that time.
