Reports are beginning to come in on the rash of accidents that happened yesterday morning when black ice coated Indiana County roadways.
Not much information is available on a reported crash on Route 286 in Young Township at 6:30 AM. State police do not identify the driver, who said he was driving at about 30 miles per hour when his GMC Envoy slid off the highway and struck an embankment.
About an hour before that, a vehicle operated by Gilbert Brandon of Indiana slid off Parkwood Road in Armstrong Township, rolling over an embankment and flipping onto its roof. Brandon was not injured.
In all, ten accidents were reported in a period of just over two hours.
