Two people charged with sex crimes charges were sentenced in Indiana County Court this morning.
23-year-old Mark Patterson of Glenn Campbell was sentenced to serve two to eight years in state prison for his guilty plea to a charge of aggravated indecent assault-forcible compulsion in one case and to two to eight years for a charge aggravated indecent assault without consent in a second case. Twenty-two other charges connected with both cases will not be prosecuted. President Judge William Martin ordered that both sentences would run concurrently. He was accused of raping a 16-year-old girl multiple times at a home in Banks Township in July of 2015 and of raping his 24-year-old pregnant girlfriend last January at a home in Glen Campbll. At the time of the girl’s rape, Patterson was staying with her family. In the other incident, Patterson and the woman were living at his father’s home.
In a separate case, 41-year-old Steven Stiteler of Black Lick was ordered to serve three to eight years in State Prison along with paying court costs and fines. Stiteler was sentenced in connection with a guilty plea to a charge of aggravated Indecent Assault of a person under 13 yars old. Eleven other charges he faced, including four counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, a single count of indecent assault, and six counts of corruption of minors, were not prosecuted as part of that plea agreement. His victim, a 13-year-old girl, told police that Stiteler had sexually assaulted her several times when she was seven or eight years old, then over a period of months after she turned 12, at homes in White Township and in Black Lick
