The death penalty is being sought in a double-homicide that took place last October in Cherryhill Township.
Indiana County District Attorney Patrick Dougherty has filed a Notice of Aggrivating Circumstances and Intent to Seek the Death Penalty against 18-year-old Nathaniel Price and 19-year-old Justin Stevenson, who are accused in the murder of Timothy Gardner and Jacqueline Brink that happened in the early morning hours of October 27th on Hillside Drive just outside of Clymer.
Police believe that Gardner and Brink were targeted in a drug robbery that night. According to an affidavit of probable cause, Price, and Stevenson along with 17-year-old Isaiah Scott went to Gardner and Brink and it looked like they were buying drugs from the two, but Price and Stevenson jumped Gardner and beat him to death with a pipe. Scott fled the scene but Price and Stevenson continued to look for a safe, and found Brink. Price and Stevenson allegedly killed Brink because they did not want witnesses. The three were apprehended the same day.
The three remain in custody at this time as Criminal Homicide is a non-bail-able offense. They each face two counts of Criminal Homicide and one count of conspiracy to robbery, while Price and Stevenson each face an additional charge of Robbery-inflict serious injury.
