Why do you do what you do?
“I got into law enforcement and the emergency services because I have always liked to help people, and I wanted to make a difference in my community.”
What or who influenced you to get into public service?
“Three sets of people influenced me in my decision to become a law enforcement officer and work in emergency services.”
“The first individual was my Uncle Nick Morgan, who was a Pennsylvania State Trooper. I remember being a little kid seeing my uncle in his uniform and him told me many stories of incidents throughout his career.
“The second individual is my cousin Dan Sacco. Dan has been involved in emergency services as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family always held Dan in high regards with his accomplishments with the Homer City Volunteer Fire Department, Citizens Ambulance Service, The Special Medical Response Team, among others.”
“The third and most important, was my parents. At the end of my junior year in high school, I was in the kitchen with my father when he asked me what I would like to do after graduating. I remember telling him, I wanted to be a police officer and he smiled. After my father’s passing my senior year, my mother supported me while I attended IUP and the Police Academy. She was one of my biggest supporters when I was hired in Homer City. Both of my parents instilled in me the values of wanting to help others.”
